Blair Castle

The white towers and walls of Blair Castle gracefully rise from the spectacular scenery surrounding the village of Blair Atholl. Around 10 miles from Pitlochry, Blair Castle has been the home of the Earls and Dukes of Atholl for over 700 years. When the Atholl family first made their home here, it was a wild and dangerous place. It was also a strategic one. Whoever held Blair Atholl was gatekeeper to the Grampian mountains and the route north to Inverness.   Set in beautiful grounds Blair Castle visitors can stroll through walks and trails including the recently restored Hercules 18th century walled garden and Diana’s Grove with its unique collection of giant conifers.
